The sixth meeting of the Ankara Forum, which brings together representatives of Turkish, Israeli and Palestinian business world, was held at St. George Hotel in East Jerusalem on Tuesday.
The Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Ankara Forum Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu said that they would hold talks to get support of international community to the forum.
Hisarciklioglu stressed, "we, businessmen, give hope to the people in the region."
Stating that all preparations on Erez Industrial Zone Project in Gaza Strip have been completed, Hisarciklioglu said, "now we want to establish joint industrial zones in West Bank, increase the number of zones and create new cooperation opportunities."
On the other hand, Ankara Forum Deputy Chairman Ahmed Hashem Al-Zughair of Palestine informed participants on difficulties that Palestinian people faced during their daily life, stating that their Israeli interlocutors in Ankara Forum extended great support to them.
Ankara Forum Deputy Chairman and Israeli Union of Manufacturers Chief Shraga Brosh said that this forum was presenting a great hope, indicating that the talks held during the meeting boost relations among the parties.
Businessmen agreed in the meeting that a commission would be formed to prepare an action plan for the next two years and a permanent office would open in East Jerusalem of Ankara Forum.
Nearly 20 businessmen from Turkey, Israel and Palestine participated in the meeting.
Later on Turkish delegation paid a visit to Israeli President Shimon Peres.
On the other hand, Turkish delegation will also meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Palestinian PM Salam Fayyad on Wednesday.
