Turkish consulate in US commemorates envoys killed by ASALA

An activity was organized in New York to commemorate Turkish diplomats who were victims of murders of Armenian militant organization ASALA.

Turkish Consul General in New York Mehmet Samsar, who attended the activity, said that Turkey was face to face with an Armenian campaign which was completely based defamations as well as organized very well to use all opportunities to defend genocide allegations.

Samsar said that various Armenian militant organizations --including ASALA-- staged more than 200 attacks in four continents and 21 countries against Turkish diplomats and targets between 1973 and 1985. He said that more than 30 Turkish diplomats, employees and their relatives were killed in those attacks.

Samsar said that Turkey was not ashamed of any period of its history, and it was always ready to face with its history and historical realities.
