'Turkish Films Week' kicks off in Germany

"Turkish films week" will start in Detmold city of Germany between September 20th and 27th with the cooperation of World Mass Media Research Foundation and Kultur und Art Initiative.

"Turkish films week" will start in Detmold city of Germany between September 20th and 27th with the cooperation of World Mass Media Research Foundation and Kultur und Art Initiative.

Lately awarded Turkish films will be on screen throughout 7 days with German subtitles.

Within the scope of the activity, "Uzak" (Distant) by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, "Masumiyet" (Innocence) by Zeki Demirkubuz, "Korkuyorum Anne" (Mommy, I am Scared) by Reha Erdem, "Oyun" (The Play) by Pelin Esmen, "Turev" (Derivative) by Ulas Inac, "Karpuz Kabugundan Gemiler Yapmak" (Boats Out of Watermelon Rinds), and "Yazi Tura" (Toss Up) by Ugur Yucel will be shown.

Besides the films, film directors and actors will attend panel discussions that will be held in the city.

World Mass Media Research Foundation Chairperson Inci Demirkol told A.A correspondent that the progress made by Turkish Cinema was closely monitored in foreign countries.

"This activity aims at publicizing Turkish Cinema and Turkish culture and enabling it to find market abroad," she said.
