Several Turkish firms have taken part in the New York Times Travel Show, one of the most important travel shows in the United States.

Nearly 500 firms from 100 countries participated in this year's show at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

Besides the Turkish Tourism and Promotion Office in New York, the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency, the Turkish Airlines (THY), the Pacha Tours, the Flo USA, the Troy Tours, the Key Tours, the Hello Tourism, the Magic Carpet Traveler and the Peerless Travel Agency took part in the show.

A seminar will be held on the sidelines of the show about Istanbul's being European capital of culture in 2010.

About 700 thousand American tourists visit Turkey every year.
