Several Turkish companies are attending the fair which will remain open till March 15.

Klaus Wowereit, Mayor of Berlin, visited the Turkish stand during the inauguration of the fair.

Turkish Culture & Tourism Ministry Undersecretary Ismet Yilmaz, who briefed Wowereit about the stand, said that Turkey hosted more than 26,300,000 tourists in 2008. He said that Turkey aimed to exceed this figure in 2009.

Wowereit said that Turkey, as a vacation country, was one of the important countries which attended ITB.

He reminded that Turkey would be the "guest country" in ITB next year.
