The Turkish foreign minister underlined importance of Europe's support for Turkey's democratic move.

Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu participated in a fast-breaking dinner hosted in his honor by Christer Asp, the Swedish ambassador to Turkey, on Friday.

Sweden is actually holding the rotating presidency of the European Union (EU).

During the fast-breaking dinner also attended by some other ambassadors from EU member states, Davutoglu said Turkey would go on with its democratic move and underscored importance of fight against PKK.

Davutoglu also underlined importance of EU's support, and said one of the most important dimensions of this issue was cutting the finance of PKK, coming from Europe.

The minister also referred to Turkey's EU membership bid, and said it was not rational not to open the energy chapter.

Davutoglu said a critical era had begun regarding the Cyprus issue, and Turkey expected the EU to be fair.

The Turkish foreign minister said opportunities in Cyprus should be seized.Davutoglu also said that synchronous efforts should be exerted to normalize Azerbaijani-Armenian and Turkish-Armenian relations.

Also, Davutoglu briefed ambassadors on efforts aiming to overcome problems between Iraq and Syria.
