Foreign ministers of Balkan countries met in Bulgaria on Friday for an informal meeting of the Southeast European Cooperation Process.
Turkish Foreign Minister & Chief Negotiator with the EU Ali Babacan represents Turkey at the meeting that is being held during a ride from Sofia to Plovdiv on a train, "Korona Express" that belonged to Czar Boris III of Bulgaria.
The meeting is being attended by Turkey, Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Croatia, Moldova and Montenegro, as well as United Nations Mission in Kosovo and the Stability Pact for Southeastern Europe.
Participants are discussing regional developments and working principles of the Southeastern Europe Regional Cooperation Council, which will replace the Stability Pact for Southeastern Europe. Ministers are expected to sign an agreement in Plovdiv regarding the establishment of the council. The council secretariat will be located in Sarajevo.
Foreign Minister Babacan is expected to return to Turkey on Friday.
