Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan and Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad discussed the Iraq issue, the struggle against terrorist organization PKK during their meeting on Monday in the Malaysian capital, diplomatic sources said.
Along with other high level foreign officials, Babacan and Ahmadinejad are set to participate in a summit of heads of state of the countries of the Developing Eight (D-8) in Kuala Lumpur.
The Turkish foreign minister also met with Malaysian Premier Abdullah bin Ahmad Badawi on Monday and Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury on Sunday.
The D-8 summit, which is set to start on Tuesday, will gather heads of state and foreign ministers of the member countries.
