Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan continues to hold talks in Kosovo's capital city of Pristina on Tuesday.

Babacan had a tete-a-tete meeting with Kosovo's Prime Minister Hashim Thaci on Tuesday after which Thaci and he held a joint press conference.

"Turkey was one of the first countries recognizing Kosovo's independence on February 17, 2008. Kosovo has the will to facilitate regional peace and tranquility. We believe that Kosovo's contribution to regional stability and development will increase," Babacan said.

"There are many areas in which the peoples of Turkey and Kosovo can cooperate. Within this framework, we will sign a strategic document and an agreement on visa exemption with Kosovo on Tuesday," Babacan said.

"We will establish a business council between Turkey and Kosovo on Tuesday. Turkey's Middle East Technical University (METU) has plans of opening a campus in Kosovo. This university project will make Kosovo a center of attraction for university students," Babacan said.

"We appreciate plural democracy in Kosovo and are pleased to witness the contribution of the Turkish community in Kosovo to Kosovo's domestic tranquility," Babacan said.

In his part, Hashim Thaci said that "there are high level political and economic relations between Turkey and Kosovo".

"The Kosovar people living in Turkey and the Turks living in Kosovo constitute a bridge between the two countries," Thaci said.

"Kosovo is a country of opportunities. Those businessmen wishing to invest in Kosovo will be supported by the government of Kosovo," Thaci said.

Ali Babacan was later received by Kosovo's President Fatmir Sejdiu.

Receiving Babacan, President Sejdiu said that mutual high level visits between Turkey and Kosovo would continue.

In his meeting with Sejdiu, Babacan stressed that Turkey's support to and confidence in Europe's youngest republic, Kosovo, were great.

Babacan also met with Kosovo's Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi and Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning and chairman of the Kosovo Democratic Turkish Party Mahir Yagcilar on Tuesday.
