Turkish FM to attend Palestine conference in Germany

An inter-ministerial conference will take place in Berlin, Germany, on June 24th with the aim of rallying the international community around their effort to strengthen Palestine's judicial and security capabilities.

An inter-ministerial conference will take place in Berlin, Germany, on June 24th with the aim of rallying the international community around their effort to strengthen Palestine's judicial and security capabilities.

Foreign Minister Ali Babacan will attend the conference on behalf of Turkey.

Foreign ministers and high-level executives from 50 countries will participate in the Berlin Conference in Support of Palestinian Civil Security and the Rule of Law under the aegis of German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier.

During the conference, the Middle East Quartet (the United States, Russia, the United Nations and the European Union) will convene. U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will attend the meeting.

The participating countries are expected to pledge donations of some 118 million euro during the conference which will focus on formation of civil police organization and judicial organs in West Bank.
