According to diplomatic sources, Babacan told his counterparts that people, children and women were dying in Gaza each passing hour.

Babacan also said that the blockade against the Palestinians should be lifted, and the disagreement between the Palestinians themselves should be solved.

Babacan also said that "Hamas had to give up its missile attacks," and underlined the necessity of meeting the urgent needs of people of Gaza and stopping the human tragedy in the region.
