Kuwait's First Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Jabir al-Mubarak al-Hamad al-Sabah paid a courtesy call to Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul in Ankara on Friday.
Before the meeting, Gonul said Turkey was eager to boost its relations with Kuwait in defense industry.
Kuwait was shining in the Middle East as a modern state and the cooperation between Turkey and Kuwait was of great importance not only for the region but also for the world, Gonul said.
Al-Sabah said Turkish soldiers were highly experienced and Kuwaiti military was eager to take advantage of their deep experiences.
The two sides exchanged souvenirs at the end of the meeting and al-Sabah signed the ministry's guestbook and expressed his appreciation for the hospitality of Turkish officials.
During his two-day visit, al-Sabah is to meet with Turkey's First Deputy Prime Minister Cemil Cicek to discuss issues of mutual interest.
The Kuwaiti official will leave Turkey Friday evening, heading to Lebanon.
