Tuzmen who is visiting Egypt together with a large delegation of businessmen met Wednesday with Governor of Alexandria.

Commenting on the Palestinian issue Tuzmen said diplomatic efforts by Turkey's president and premier helped carry the situation in Gaza to the international platform noting that these efforts were finalised in Egypt.

Complaints

Tuzmen said the trade volume between the two countries which had an upward trend since the signing of the Free Trade Agreement in 2002, currently reached 3 billion USD. He said their aim was to further boost this volume to reach 5 billion USD by 2011.

Tuzmen pointed out that the businessmen had complaints about visas and bureaucracy, and called on officials from both parties to provide conveniences in visas and reduce bureaucratic procedures.

Tuzmen who later addressed the Turkish-Egyptian Business council said non-tariff obstacles should be removed in order to further enhance investments and trade.

Tuzmen said investments of Turkish businessmen in Egypt reached 1.2 billion USD since the signing of the Free Trade agreement, while investments of Egyptian businessmen in Turkey remained on the level of 30 million USD.

"We expect more Egyptian companies. We believe in Egypt's future, we will continue investments. We will join our forces and make investments in third countries," said Tuzmen.
