Turkish minister to attend EU meeting on illegal migration
Interior minister said that Turkey had problems about illegal migration and works together with several European countries.
Turkish Interior Minister Besir Atalay flied to Czech Republic on Wednesday to take part in an EU meeting.
The informal meeting of ministers of justice and home affairs would discuss illegal migration, fight against illicit drugs, the use of modern technology for security purposes and safe use of modern technology, Besir Atalay told reports before departing from Istanbul.
Turkey had problems about illegal migration and works together with several European countries, Atalay said.
He also said that Turkey had achieved a lot over the past few years regarding the fight against drug trafficking.
"We attach great importance to fight against illicit drugs. We can say that Turkey is not a transit country anymore. They (drug traffickers) now seek other routes, especially in the north," he said.
