Turkish ministers express hope over Obama
Turkish Environment and Forestry Minister expressed hope that Turkish-U.S. relations would further improve under Barack Obama's presidency term.
Turkish Environment and Forestry Minister Veysel Eroglu expressed hope that Turkish-U.S. relations would further improve under Barack Obama as the new president of the United States.
"Also from the messages he has been giving, it occurs to me that Obama's term will be a better one and we hope that relations between Turkey and America would further improve," Eroglu told reporters in response to a question at a press conference on Wednesday.
"This is the beginning of a new era with Martin Luther King's dreams have now been come true. I believe that this is an important step taken toward a more egalitarian understanding of humanity," Culture Minister Ertugrul Gunay told the press meeting.
In related news, Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan said "new wave of hope" had surrounded the world as Obama took the office.
"I hope the humanity gets what it has hoped for," Toptan said.
