Turkish lawmakers will visit Israel and Palestine from April 6th and 10th.

Five MPs headed by Hasan Murat Mercan, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Turkish Parliament, will meet Israeli and Palestinian executives during their visit to the region.

The parliamentarians will be in Tel Aviv in the afternoon on April 6th, and visit Global Research in International Affairs (GLORIA).

Beginning their formal talks on April 7th, Turkish MPs will firstly meet Israeli President Shimon Peres. They will later have talks with Dalia Itzik, speaker of Israeli Parliament, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and several Israeli parliamentarians.

Murat Mercan will give a conference on internal and external policies and dynamics of Turkey at the Tel Aviv University, and have a meeting with representatives of Jewish people of Turkish descent.

The group will proceed to Palestine on April 9th and meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad in Ramallah.

Turkish MPs are also expected to have talks with Palestinian parliamentarians; Riyad al-Malki, Palestinian minister of information & foreign affairs; and Ahmad Qurei, chief negotiator of Palestine.
