Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will be visiting France and Great Britain after a new government is announced, his office said Tuesday.
A statement by the Prime Minister's office said Erdogan will meet with Gordon Brown to discuss bilateral relations and international issues.
The Turkish Prime Minister will stop in France to meet with President Nicolas Sarkozy to discuss Turkey's pending membership of the EU and the efforts Ankara is taking to speed up the process.
Sarkozy is one of the main figures opposing Turkey's EU membership.
In November, the European Commission will present its annual evaluation of Turkey's progress in implementing the EU's reform measures set in October 2005.
