Turkish President to attend Gaza meeting in Egypt
Turkish President Abdullah Gul will travel to the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh on Sunday to attend a multi-national meeting on Israel's devastating assault over Gaza, killing 1200 Palestinians, a quarter of children.

The Sharm el-Sheikh meeting will be hosted by Egypt's President Hosni Mubarak and will also be attended by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, French President Nicholas Sarkozy and Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Zapatero.

Israel on Saturday announces "unilateral ceasefire", but said would not withdraw its troops from Gaza.

The unilateral truce allows Israel to avoid agreeing concessions with the Palestinian group, such as easing the 18-month-old blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has prevented medical aid and basic supplies from reaching the Palestinians.

In response to Israel's announcement, Hamas said would fight against Israel soldiers that were still in Palestinian territories.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon urged Israel to withdraw all the soldiers from Gaza as soon as possible.
