Turkish relief group says aid sent to flood-hit Albania / PHOTO

Turkey's IHH, Humanitarian Relief Foundation, reached out to flood victims in Albania.

IHH said in a statement sent to World Bulletin, "our teams distributed 4 tons of relief supplies to to flood victim families in Albania". "5 thousand people have benefited from the distribution. The aid consists of a container of blankets, clothes and food continues," it also said.



Flood disaster most heavily affected Dayc town of Shkodra. Eleven mosques in the region also were left under water.

IHH teams, that were sent from Istanbul, provided emergency assistance to families in the town. IHH teams cooperated with the partner organization Alsar Foundation.



"Turkish doldiers also participated in the distribution in the disaster area. For the first stage, 4 tons of relief supplies were distributed," the aid group said.



Flood victims in Dayc, Sukat, New Damascus, Pemtar, Mushan, Belay, Darrgjat, Rsuhkul, Sirk villages that are most affected by the disaster received oil, rice, beans, sugar, pasta, flour, hand soap and dishwashing detergent. In addition to this assistance, blankets, clothes and food aid distribution continue.
