Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan addressed on Tuesday a meeting of the Turkish-Algerian Business Council in capital Algiers, calling on Turkish and Algerian businesspeople to increase their investments.
Toptan said the trade volume between Turkey and Algeria could be increased to as high as 10 billion USD by 2010, adding that the two countries could also sign a free trade agreement.
"There are certain problems in bilateral commercial relations but they can easily be overcome. What we need is that our businesspeople should take advantage of the mutual business opportunities both here and in Turkey," Toptan said.
Toptan also said a Turkish delegation was scheduled to visit Algeria in March in order to work on a free trade agreement.
