The Speaker of Turkish Parliament, Koksal Toptan, met with the Speaker of Ethiopia's House of Representatives, Teshome Toga, and an accompanying delegation in Ankara on Monday, Anatolian news agency reported.
On Isreali violence on Gaza, Toptan said Turkish parliament condemned Israeli air attacks.
"World must take clear and strong position against Israreli attacks, primarily United Nations Security Council to end air strikes over Gaza, Toptan added.
Toptan had a tete-a-tete meeting with Toga and later participated in a meeting between Turkish and Ethiopian delegations.
"Bilateral relations between Turkey and Ethiopia are at a very pleasing level. Since 1912, when the Ottoman Empire opened a consulate general in Ethiopia, relations have been constantly developing," Toptan said.
Stressing that Turkish-Ethiopian relations are excellent, Toga said that the Ethiopian government will help those Turkish businessmen willing to invest in Ethiopia.
Touching on Israel's attack against Gaza, Toga said that problems should be resolved by peaceful means.
We believe the two sides should limit clashes and continue with negotiations, Toga said.
Civilian targets should be exempt from attacks, Toga said.
Koksal Toptan later hosted a luncheon in honor of Toga and the accompanying delegation.
