"President Ahmet Necdet Sezer do not have the right to veto the constitutional amendment twice. He will either ratify it or call for a referendum," Turkish Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc said on Saturday.
The constitutional amendment bill will be re-discussed at the parliament next week, Arinc told Turkish and Slovakian journalists at Turkey's Embassy in Bratislava.
Arinc said that republican demonstrations are the democratic rights of Turkish nation, and noted, "everybody can join these demonstrations, but it is not right to say that 'the regime is in danger' by looking at the number of people who join these demonstrations."
On Cyprus problem, Arinc said that the EU has not kept its promises and EU member states are not behaving sincerely, adding that economic sanctions on Turkish Cypriots have not been lifted yet.
