Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that Turkey achieved a successful growth rate in the first quarter despite economic uncertainty, pessimistic atmosphere, global and national fluctuations.
Turkey grew 6.6 percent in the first three months of this year, Erdogan told his party meeting at the parliament.
"This figure is the sign of Turkey's decisive and confident steps towards the future," Erdogan said.
Erdogan highlighted agriculture and manufacturing industry in growth figures.
"Agriculture sector grew 5.6 percent and manufacturing industry grew 7 percent. These are both positive and pleasing figures which mean Turkey's growth continues without any retard during AK Party government," he said.
Erdogan said Turkey had several advantages in the area of energy.
"Turkey launched and completed many important investments and projects in order to provide its own energy resources and become a global actor," he said.
The government has been working really hard to make Turkey an energy corridor, he stated.
