Egyptian film company, "Echo Media" announced that it will start shooting a TV series which will describe the last years of the Ottoman state and Caliphate.

According to the Al-Jazeera report, filmmaker Yasil Hatibi, of Echo Media said the company will produce "a historical TV series" that will be describing the situation during the last years of the Ottoman Empire and Caliphate.

"Sultan II. Abdulhamid's struggle to prevent invasion of Arab lands by the enemy will be narrated to the audience" Hatibi said.

Stating that the shootings will take place in Egypt, Syria and Turkey, Hatibi noted that the wide array of actors and actresses from these three countries will have important roles in the project.

"The purpose of the project is to transfer historical events to the new generation accurately," Hatibi said.

The TV series is expected to be aired in many Arab countries.
