Two roadside bombs exploded in quick succession in a popular market south of Baghdad on Thursday, killing at least two people and wounding 10, Iraqi police said.

Police said the toll from blasts in the town of Mahmudiya, about 30 km (20 miles) south of Baghdad, was expected to rise.

Mahmudiya was once in the heart of the so-called "Triangle of Death" during 2006 and 2007, killing hundreds of Iraqis.
