Two passenger trains collided in Bilecik in northwest Turkey on Sunday, killing one driver and injuring seven people, a Turkish governor said.
Musa Colak, Governor of western province of Bilecik, said on Sunday that one engine driver died and 7 people, two of them train staff, were injured in train collision in Bilecik.
Governor Colak told reporters that the two trains collided noting that a signalization failure caused the accident.
"Engine driver Ismet Kocay, who was seriously injured in the accident, lost his life. Seven people, including two personnel, were injured," he said.
The accident occurred when the trains were travelling from Istanbul to Eskisehir.
The accident occurred between the stations of Vezirhan and Bayirkoy.
