UEFA President Michel Platini is scheduled to arrive in Istanbul on Wednesday on an invitation from Turkish Football Federation.

Platini is set to visit on Thursday Istanbul's Sukru Saracoglu Stadium which would stage UEFA Cup final. UEFA's First Vice-President Senes Erzik will accompany Platini on the visit.

Platini will also attend a UEFA cup handover ceremony where holders Zenit St Petersburg will return the trophy to the UEFA president.

The cup will remain in Istanbul for display until the final game on May 20.
