UEFA re-schedules Galatasaray-Atletico Madrid game

The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) changed on Wednesday the day and time of Galatasaray-Atletico Madrid game.

Galatasaray soccer team of Turkey will take on Atletico Madrid of Spain on February 25, instead of February 23 in UEFA Europa Cup second round game.

The game will begin at Istanbul's Ali Sami Yen Stadium at 8 p.m. Turkish local time.

Earlier, UEFA had set the kick-off time as 7 p.m. Turkish local time.

The UEFA changed the day and time of the Europa Cup game due to a demand of the Galatasaray soccer club.

Galatasaray had asked the UEFA to change day and time of its match with Atletico Madrid due to a derby with its Turkcell Super League rival Besiktas.

The first match between Galatasaray and Atletico Madrid will take place in Spain on February 23.

If Galatasaray qualify for the third round, it will play against the winner of the Everton-Sporting Lisbon (England-Portugal) matches.

The UEFA Europa League final will take place at the HSH Nordbank Arena in Hamburg, Germany on May 12, 2010.
