The Pentagon told Congress that one of the Gulf countries had asked about buying 288 Patriot Advanced Capability PAC-3 missiles and related gear worth up to $9 billion.
The prime contractors for the proposed sale would be Raytheon and Lockheed Martin, the Pentagon's Defence Security Cooperation Agency said in a notice to lawmakers.

The Bush administration announced plans to sell advanced anti-missile systems to Gulf states with a combined potential value of nearly $10.4 billion (Dh38.2 billion).
