Uyghurs in China decided to provide free stands for Turkish exporters at a trade fair to be held in Urumchi in September.
The 17th Urumchi Economic Cooperation and Trade Fair will be held between September 1st and 5th in Urumchi, the capital of the Uyghur Autonomous Region of China, it was reported on Monday.
"A 1,500 sq.m. area will be allocated for Turkish companies in the fair. Chinese officials desire Turkish companies to exhibit their products in this area," officials said.
Commenting on the upcoming fair, Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen said that Turkish exporters should be brave while entering the Chinese market.
Tuzmen said Turkish exporters could meet the demands of Uyghur consumers with high incomes.
"There are at least 300-400 million Chinese people whose income level is quite high. This part of the society may be our target. We should aim to reach them with our quality products and fashion trademarks," Tuzmen said.
Tuzmen also said that the Uyghur Autonomous Region of China was an attractive region for Turkish exporters.
