WEF president says Turkish PM is peace maker for Gaza

The president of the World Economic Forum (WEF) defined the Turkish prime minister as a peace maker.

Speaking at a cocktail reception hosted by Turkey's Dogus Group in Davos, Schwab said that he loved Turkey and the Turks.

Klaus Schwab, the WEF president, said that Turkey's Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan was an important peace maker for Gaza and Middle East.

Schwab said that what happened on Thursday would not have a negative impact on Turkish-Israeli relations, which he described as significant.

Schwab also said that the forum would pay attention not to cause such a problem in sessions next year.

The WEF president said that he would pay a two-week visit to Turkey soon.

Schwab said that he looks forward to Erdogan's participation in Davos Summit next year.

"We will pay special attention so that the discomfort experienced last night does not get repeated," Schwab said.

"I have full respect for Premier Erdogan", Schwab also said.

Prime Minister Erdogan on Thursday walked off the stage at a panel discussion on Gaza at the World Economic Forum in Davos after the moderator interrupted his speech in response to Israeli President Shimon Peres' criticisms and said that he will not attend the Davos meetings in the future.

Erdogan's reaction found support throughout the world, especially in Islamic countries.
