Tunisia has secured a $55 million loan from the World Bank to encourage industries to invest in energy conservation, official news agency TAP reported.

Tunisia has secured a $55 million loan from the World Bank to encourage industries in the north African country to invest in energy conservation, official news agency TAP reported on Friday.

The loan is intended "to enable manufacturers to finance energy efficiency projects under government policy to control consumption of energy," TAP said.

The credit is repayable in 12 years with a grace period of up to three years, it added.
