China to mark Turkish year with Anatolia exhibition

Shanghai Museum will host "Anatolian civilizations" exhibition as of November 19, marking 2013 as China's Turkish year.

Some 121 historical artefacts collected from Istanbul Archeological Museums, Topkapi Palace Museum and Turkish and Islamic Arts Museum will be exhibited in Shanghai Museum, within the scope of China's Turkish year activities, said a release from Bilkent Cultural Initiative (BKG) on Wednesday.

The exhibition consisting of artefacts from beginning of humanity in Anatolia in Paleolithic era to the late Ottoman period will be available between November 19, 2013 and February 20, 2014.

The exhibition, co-organized by the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry and the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, is also being supported for BKG acting on rediscovery and protection of the cultural heritage.
