Known with his fondness to art, the deputy Mufti of Bulgaria, religious leader of Muslims in the country, Biralı Mümin has collected more than 30 pieces of art for an exhibition called ‘Vurgu- (Emphasis)’. The religious leader said the pieces generally focus on moral values and one’s internal world.
Mümin said “When we are occupied with bad mood, we usually ignore beautiful things even they are around us. Inspiration is a God given gift. It is nearly impossible for me to share time for my hobbies in a busy daily routine. This was a dream for me. I never imagined that I opened an exhibition in one of the privileged art galleries of country. With the support of Ministry of Culture, my dream has been realized. Today, here are people from different religious backgrounds. I think I build bridges between different religions.”
Deputy Minister of Culture Viktor Stoyanov, Mufti of Bulgaria Mustafa Aliş and Turkish Ambassador Süleyman Gökçe attended the opening ceremony. Aliş said the event is source of proud for Muslim community in Bulgaria.
A visitor in the exhibition told this is the first in Bulgarian history. “Thus, I want everyone to come here and see these pieces of art. I am sure they feel very different here.”
Birali Mümin explained his next aim is opening an exhibition in Turkey.
