The finals of Turkovision to be in Eskisehir

The Turkosvision finals, a song contest among Turkic countries and Turkish speaking nations inspired by the Eurovision Song Contest, will be held in Eskisehir on 22 December. The semi-final of the contests will be completed in Kyrgyzstan where 20 participants were elected to compete in the semi-finals.  

The contest is organized by the Turkish state sponsored television channel TRT, which also airs the Eurovision. Eskisehir, a small, serene city located between the Turkish capital Ankara and its biggest city Istanbul, will host the finals. 

The semi finals were organized in the studios belonging to the Directorate of Radio and Television of the Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Manas University. Twenty songs will compete in the semi finals on 10 November and the contest will be aired live by Kyrgyz State Television KTR. Twelve of them will be selected and on 16 November the citizens will vote for 12 songs via SMS. The winner will represent Kyrgyzstan in the finals.

Contenders from 20 countries either come from countries that have an strong presence of ethnic Turks or from places where the Turkish language is widely used. They will participate the finals of song contest in Eskisehir on 22 December. The countries involved are Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Russia, Tataristan, Moldova, Ukraine, Crimea, Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey. 

This sort of competition will be the first in kind within the Turkish world and the organizers aim to do it again in upcoming years.
