The Turkish box-office is eagerly awaiting the first Turkish made film about the war in Bosnia, which is set to be released on 25 October.

The movie ‘Crossroads’ starring Kristina Krepela, Nik Xhelilaj, Turgay Aydin, Alma Terzic, Faketa Salihbegovic and Riza Akin was directed by the Turkish poet Faysal Soysal and was produced by Balkon Film. Actors from Bosnia, Croatia and Albania will star alongside the Turkish actors. The film’s music has also been taken from popular Iranian and Russian composers.

In an interesting plot, the director takes the popular religious tragic love story regarding the prophet Joseph and his admirer Zuleikha and retells it in the context of the Bosnian war. It also focuses on the issues of mass graves and the thousands of people still missing since the war.

The film was also presented at this year's Cannes Film Market.
