14 people have died in Afghanistan as heavy snowfall continues to affect the north of country, say officials.
Deputy Governor of Jawzjan Province, Abdurrahman Mahmoudi told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday that four people died in the Qush Tepa district and ten in the Darzab district of Jawzjan, due to the cold weather.
Expressing that there were also children among the dead, Mahmoudi said he is concerned as the number of dead may increase.
As a result of the heavy snow, Jawzjan province has experienced temperatures as low as -22C.
