At least 16 Taliban insurgents have been killed and six were wounded in operations within the past 24 hours, Afghanistan’s interior ministry says.
Sixteen Taliban were killed, six wounded and six others were arrested by the Afghan National Security Forces in operations conducted in the Nangarhar, Kunduz, Kandahar, Zabul, Uruzgan, Paktika, Badghis, Helmand and Nimroz provinces of Afghanistan.
“Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy ammunition rounds and IEDs (improvised explosive devices)”, the statement also said.
Eleven different types of IEDs, placed by Afghanistan's enemies for destructive activities in Kunar, Laghman, Jowzjan, Kandahar, Khost, Paktika, Farah and Helmand provinces were also defused on Sunday, the official statement added.Last Mod: 27 Ocak 2014, 12:59
