Two army troops have been killed and three injured in a landmine blast in Pakistan's northwestern Kurram Agency tribal region on Tuesday, officials said.
A senior military official said, on condition of anonymity, that the blast struck a patrolling vehicle.
The army claims to have killed nearly 2,100 militants since June 15, when it launched anti-militant operations in the tribal belt.
The figures cannot be confirmed due to the absence of independent media in the region.
More than 200 troops have also been killed in landmine blasts and clashes with the Taliban during this period.
