Afghan security forces killed 24 Taliban members and wounded three others during a series of operations in several provinces across Afghanistan on Sunday, stated Afghanistan's Interior Ministry.
The Ministry also announced that the operations were staged in the provinces of Kunar, Nangarhar, Laghman, Kandahar, Paktia and Helman, and 11 Taliban members were arrested during the operations.
A number of weapons and explosives were also seized by Afghan forces which had been placed by the Taliban members.
However, Taliban Spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid disputed the figures given by the Ministry, claiming that numerous Afghan and foreign soldiers were killed in the attacks.
Meanwhile, the Afghan Ministry of Defense reported that two Afghan soldiers have been killed while defusing the roadside bombs placed by the Taliban in Musa Kala and Sangin district of the Helmand province.Last Mod: 03 Mart 2014, 11:05
