Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkey Faig Nusrat Baghirov hosted a reception for the 95th Anniversary of the Republic Day of Azerbaijan and the 90th Anniversary of the national leader Heydar Aliyev on Monday.
Turkish Minister of Interior Muammer Guler, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz, Turkish national force commanders, and many bureaucrats attended the reception at the Park of Heydar Aliyev.
Reminding The Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, known as the first republic of the eastern world, was founded on 28 May 1918 and lasted for such a short time, Ambassador Baghirov said "The eternity and stability of Azerbaijan freedom has been achieved by Heydar Aliyev."
Turkish Minister Guler focused in his speech on the close relationship between Turkey and Azerbaijan saying "Our closest relationship is with Azerbaijan. Our friendship will continue until forever."
Emphasizing Turkey and Azerbaijan are two states of one nation, Guler said the new park of Heydar Aliyev was a sign of the friendship between two countries.
Guler called the Azerbaijani guests as "beloved Azerbaijani friends" and ended his speech as saying "Long live our friendship with Azerbaijan!"
Speaking at the reception, Energy Minister Yildiz said "We are the only nation in the world that can think together and feel together. It is not only The Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline that connect us. It is our ideas, feelings, and hearts what actually connect us."
Pointing out the two developing countries were becoming stronger by supporting each other, Yildiz said "Turkey and Azerbaijan are supporting each other not just in their own region, but also in international affairs."
At the reception, Farid Mammadov, who represented Azerbaijan in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö with the song "Hold Me" and came 2nd after Denmark, gave a short concert.
In addition, The Azerbaijan State Song and Dance Ensemble took place with a short performance.
