At least 26 tourists from China’s mainland were killed Tuesday when a tour bus was engulfed in flames after hitting a freeway guardrail in Taiwan, according to local media.
Taiwan’s official Central News Agency reported that the accident took place at around 1 p.m. (0500GMT) on a freeway lane headed toward Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
Firefighter extinguished the flames in around 30 minutes, but it was not immediately clear how many passengers the bus had been carrying.
