Opposition parties have called a three-day general strike on Sunday to press forming a non-partisan caretaker government to supervise upcoming parliamentary election in Bangladesh.
Opposition leader and former premier Khaleda Zia told a rally in Dhaka on Friday that the October 27-29 strike aims to press for forming a neutral poll-time government.
However, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, leader of the ruling Bangladesh Awami League (BAL), has ruled out the formation of a caretaker government to oversee the polls.
Instead, Hasina proposed forming an all-party interim government to conduct looming parliamentary elections.Last Mod: 25 Ekim 2013, 17:12
