At least six people died and six others were injured after an explosion in a factory in East Turkestan (China's Xingjian Uyghur Autonomous Region), according to initial reports.

The explosion, said to have caused by liquid nitrogen, rocked a factory that produces steel materials, a statement delivered by Xingjian Regional Work Safety Department said.

An investigation has been launched on the incident.
