China blames Japan for 'tarnishing its image'

World Bulletin / News Desk

Beijing administration on Thursday blamed Japan for "tarnishing the image of China."

Chinese Foreign Affairs spokesperson Hua Chunying stated at a regular press conference that Beijing's attitude in terms of its territorial integrity was unchanged.

"The current problem is not the harsh attitude of China but Japan's unilateral attitude far from negotiation," said Hua.

"Japanese planes and ships continue their illegal activities in waters and airspace of Diaoyu islands and damage the territorial integrity of China," he added.

Hua stated Japan was "trying to tarnish the image of China by creating a hostile environment" and said, "Tokyo's attitude was a total opposite of the attempts of recovering relations."

A Chinese warship had conducted a radar lock on the Japanese coast guard ship on January 30.

Japanese authorities considered the situation as "devouring" however, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe stated they hadn't closed the door for dialogue.
