A car rigged with explosives went off Thursday in a crowded refugee camp in Pakistan's northwest, killing at least 12 people and wounding 25 others, a Pakistani police officer said.
Women and children are among the victims of the blast at the Jalozai camp, about 30 km southwest of Peshawar, said Fuad Khan, the police officer, said.
Wounded refugees were rushed to hospitals and the Pakistani army has sent reinforcements to the region.
Jalozai is one of the three refugee camps in Pakistan, sheltering people who fled the fighting between Pakistani security forces and Taliban in the country's northwest.
Taliban condemned the attack with one of its spokesperson saying the Islamic movement would not target innocent civilians.Last Mod: 21 Mart 2013, 13:45
