The number of people killed in landslides on Java island, Indonesia, rose to 19 on Tuesday, according to Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency.
A statement released by the disaster agency's spokesperson, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, said five houses were buried under mud in Mekarsari village of East Java's Jombang district. It also said seven bodies had been rescued and the search for ten missing people is continuing.
Twelve villagers were killed in another landslide that hit Central Java's Kudus district last Friday.
Seasonal downpours cause frequent landslides and floods each year in Indonesia, which has nearly 17,000 islands.
