An earthquake of 7.3 magnitude struck on Wednesday in East Turkestan (Xinjiang).

A 7.3 magnitude earthquake in East Turkestan (Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region) in the northwest of China was recorded on Wednesday, said China state television.

The epicenter of the earthquake is Yutian county in the far south of the Xinjiang province, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

The epicenter was recorded at a depth of 12 km.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
