The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has called for a complete shutdown in Kashmir on February 11 and announced a 10-day programme from February 2 to mark the martyrdom anniversary of prominent leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, reported Kashmir Media Service. 

A spokesman for the JKLF in a statement in Srinagar said, “February 11 will be observed as Maqbool Day and on this day a public rally will be held at 11 a.m. at Trehgam, Kupwara.”

“Besides, special meetings will be held at all the district headquarters in Jammu Kashmir and all the offices in other countries to pay tributes to Shaheed Muhammad Maqbool Butt,” the spokesman added.

Meanwhile, the JKLF at a meeting held at Maqbool Manzil in Srinagar with Acting Chairman, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Butt in the chair, announced its 10-day programme from February 2, 2013, in connection with commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of Muhammad Maqbool Butt.

On February 11, Monday, a complete shutdown across Kashmir will be observed, he said. On February 8, Friday, a protest rally will be organized from JKLF headquarters Maqbool Manzil Srinagar after Friday prayers in connection with Maqbool Day.

Same kind of programs will be organized across Azad Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi. Programs will also be organized in USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Brussels, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Holland and other parts of Europe, the statement said.
