Karzai wishes Pakistan peace process to continue

The Afghanistan presidency’s web site said that Karzai thought Mehsud was killed untimely but this should not affect the peace process in Pakistan as they are still to start.

Afghanistan’s President Hamid Karzai has wishes the killing of the leader of Taliban in Pakistan, Hakimullah Mehsud, would not diversely affect the peace process in Pakistan.

Karzai came together with a delegation from US Congress and a long term strategic cooperation between the US and Afghanistan was taken up during the meeting.

Afghanistan presidency’s web site said that Karzai thought Mehsud was killed untimely but this should not affect the peace process in Pakistan as they are still to start.

Meanwhile Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharrif said on the same issue that they are against the US drone attacks but Pakistani people are united when the country is at stake and Pakistan should give peace a chance.  

Hakimullah Mehsud was killed together with his four guards last Friday by an unmanned US drone in Northern Waziristan.
